What are ticket types?

A ticket type is a ticket with its own price, quantity, and restrictions. (i.e. General admission or VIP passes).

Ticket types give your guests different options, allowing them to choose the ticket type that fits their needs and budget.

Offering different ticket types allows you to create a ticket price strategy.

With Checkout Page, multiple ticket types can be added to the same event. For example, allowing your guests to purchase 4 General Admission tickets and 1 VIP at the same time.

General admission tickets

The most common ticket type is a General Admission ticket.

General Admission tickets are openly available to everyone and are usually on sale for the longest period of time.

General Admission tickets are great for events with unassigned seating.

Luxury tickets (VIP)

Give your guest exclusive access to reserved seating or pass-holder-only areas and privileges.

Normally VIP tickets are more limited than General Admission tickets.

Single or multi-day tickets

Give your guests the option to choose between attending your event for just one day or for the whole event.

Single or multi-day tickets are commonly offered for festivals, conferences, and exhibitions.

Typically, event organizers will offer VIP upgrades with single or multi-day event tickets.

How to add multiple ticket types for my event?

Adding multiple ticket types to your event is easy. Here's a simple guide:

1. Create a page

  • Select Checkout
  • Set the price to 0 to only use prices in the product variants (you'll add ticket types later)

2. Manage variants

  • Head to Variants
  • Click Add variant
  • Name it Ticket types
  • Add ticket types and prices to each variant option (General admission, VIP)

3. Settings

  • Click Settings
  • For Quantity, choose Quantity per option
  • Make sure to make the variant Required
  • Click Save

That's it! You've added 2 ticket types to your checkout, each with an independent quantity selector.

Remember, you need to connect your Stripe account to accept payments! It's a simple one-time setup – just a couple of clicks, and you're good to go!

How many ticket types can I add to my event?

There are no limits to the number of different ticket types that you can add to your event.

Our drag-and-drop interface allows you to easily arrange them in the order you need them.

You can easily remove a ticket once it’s sold out, just select Delete variant.

How do I set ticket availability for my ticket type?

There is no limit to the number of tickets you can sell for your event and with Checkout Page, you don’t pay any fees per ticket you sell.

Want to set the number of tickets for sale? Follow these steps:

1. Edit the variant

  • Click Settings
  • Click Manage stock
  • Add the number of tickets for each type

Now, when customers purchase tickets, the stock for each ticket type will count down until it becomes Sold out.

If you need to, you can always add more stock during the time your event is on sale.

How do I sell ticket types for different event dates?
